Doris (Turon) Clifford, 97, of Scranton, formerly of Avoca, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton.
Born in West Pittston on November 7, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Jeanette (Egan) Turon.
Doris worked in the garment industry and was a member of Queen of the Apostles Parish, Avoca. She enjoyed reading, watching football and playing cards with her club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Anthony Clifford; brother, Louis Turon; sisters, Jean Currance and Marie Yuravich; nephew, Philip Clifford and son-in-law, John Parrino.
Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Susan Parrino and Antoinette Clifford; granddaughter, Chrissy Sandacz and husband, Mike; great granddaughter, Olivia Sandacz; sister, Joann Amos; nephews, Anthony Clifford (Ellen ) and Michael Clifford (Sunny Yoder) and niece, Kathryn Clifford and numerous other nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Allied Terrace, Dr. James Sheerer and Dr. Kishori Veerabhadrappa for the care they provided Doris.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM from Queen of the Apostles Parish, 715 Hawthorne St. Avoca, with Father Phillip Sladicka officiating. Family and friends may visit from 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM at the church. Arrangements were through Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Avoca.
Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming.
